Papahana Kuaola
Log Number: NH-250455-OLS-21
Papahana Kuaola will develop an online and in-person program focused on the moolelo (stories) of Hawaii. This project will support learners as they transition from a virtual to in-person/blended learning environment, increase access to culture-based education resources, and strengthen interest in reading, understanding, and appreciation of Hawaiian culture through literature. A total of 1,540 participants from underserved communities on the islands of Molokai, Maui, and Oahu will participate in activities that will foster an understanding and appreciation of traditional Hawaiian literature. The goal is to preserve traditional Hawaiian culture, history, knowledge, and practices as educators continue to support students navigating new learning environments.
