The Hawaiian Mission Houses Historic Site and archives' (HMH) Mo'ok'auhau: Digitizing Native Hawaiian Genealogy Resources project to serve the Native Hawaiian community both in Hawaii and throughout the world. The project, which builds on prior funded work, will digitize collections held in the HMH archives for access via the internet and present programs on each island to demonstrate the use of the new resources. Collections to be digitized include church business correspondence, pastors' reports, letters, lists of church and association members, and various church and secular related documents such as baptism, marriage, death, and funeral records that provide vital genealogical data. The project will make important family documents available and allow HMH to create workshops to create awareness of the holdings and teach community members how to use technology to access the holdings.
