Log Number: NG-04-17-0216-17
Hawai’I Maoli will partner with Na Hawai‘i ‘Imi Loa, the Hawaiian Librarian Professional Association, the University of Hawai‘i-West O‘ahu, and public schools affiliated with the Hawai‘i Department of Education to implement the Nana I Ke Kumu (Look to the Source) project. Nana I Ke Kumu will create awareness of culturally-relevant library resources, develop and facilitate access to materials, and help develop librarians’, teachers’, and students’ skills and means to effectively engage with culturally relevant information. Forty Native Hawaiian students will complete a 12-hour library research skills training program, and at least 125 educators, including librarians and teachers, will attend workshops on Hawaiian resource databases in order to increase their understanding of digital resources and build search skills.
