Hula Preservation Society

The Hula Preservation Society's (HPS) Kauhola Hou project will support Native Hawaiian learning by expanding online access to the HPS library and by broadening access to educational resources and cultural materials that are currently inaccessible online. The project includes development of a public access module for the Kauhola library database and online tutorials and digital preservation of 150 audio pieces and 550 historic photos. It will increase understanding and awareness of Native Hawaiian history from Native Hawaiian perspectives, and enhance awareness of the importance of digital preservation of tangible elements of Hawaiian culture for future Native Hawaiian advancement.
