Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma

Log Number: NAE-256773-OLS-24

The Jones Academy Library of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma will update its collections and enhance programs offered by the library. This project will replace current books, which are well-worn and in moderate to poor condition, while supporting the acquisition of new titles, which will focus on Indigenous subject matters to cultivate a relevant curriculum. In addition to expanding the library’s collections, the program will include crafts, special events, and afterschool programming to increase participation among students. Guest speakers and demonstrators from within the Tribal community will present on topics related to Native American culture. By providing the community with new and updated materials, the library will be able to provide learning opportunities that feature portrayals of Native peoples.
