Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma

The George J. Captain Public Library of the Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma will focus on increasing community member use of the library’s services by using a bookmobile to raise awareness about the library and the resources available to the public. The project will feature a community needs assessment that will help inform the project. The bookmobile will consistently visit the Tribal Learning Center and Elder Housing facilities to provide library services. During these visits, they will provide books, brain-work activities, swag, and an activity to support cultural education. They will also use the bookmobile to participate in tribal and community events throughout the year to increase awareness about the library.
