La Jolla Band of Luiseño Indians

The La Jolla Band of Luiseno Indians will deliver the La Jolla Generations Program to provide Native youth with an array of services including tutoring, after-school care, sports, and cultural activities. Activities will include working closely with parents, students, and teachers, weekly grade checks, and development of the yearly reading readiness curriculum. The program has been in operation for 16 years and funds will enable the library to continue providing educational experiences that are meaningful, relevant, and culturally appropriate while improving the reading comprehension of youth in the community. The project will provide direct benefit to the tribal citizens within its service area.
