Dry Creek Rancheria Band of Pomo Indians

Dry Creek Rancheria will focus on preservation, care, and enhancement of collections by improving collections storage, increasing accessibility, and enhancing community outreach. The project will prioritize purchasing library materials concerned with California Indian history and culture, including material specific to Dry Creek Rancheria, and increase archival holdings relevant to Tribal history by conducting oral histories with Tribal Elders and encouraging community archiving. Additionally, the project will develop a digital database of library and archives holdings, purchase archival storage materials and shelving, and sponsor several Open House events with cultural demonstrations and native food samples. Through these efforts the library will advance shared knowledge and preserve Dry Creek Rancheria’s history. The project will provide direct benefit to the tribal citizens within its service area.
