Bay Mills Indian Community

The Bay Mills Indian Community will recruit and hire a full-time staff person to organize, catalog, and digitize the Tribal History Department's collection of artifacts, photos, and documents. Once inventoried and organized, the historical collections will be more accessible to Tribal community members and will be used to share accurate and culturally relevant history with visitors at the Point Iroquois Lighthouse Museum. The project team will also develop a policies and procedures manual for handling, inventorying, and filing historical documents, resulting in the Tribe being better-able to protect and conserve important cultural and historic assets.
