Hawaii Department of Land and Natural Resources
Log Number: MN-252080-OMS-22
The Kahoʻolawe Island Reserve Commission (KIRC), under the Hawaii Department of Land and Natural Resources, will advance stewardship and access to its collections, which include natural, cultural, historical, environmental, and archeological resources. The project will include upgrading hardline services and technical hardware to a cloud-based system and increasing organizational capacity by providing staff with the ability to work both on-site and remotely from three different islands. The upgrades will enable the KIRC to offer increased access to digital resources, such as the Living Library platform and database, the Kahoʻolawe Island Guide App, live-streaming video, and a Kahoʻolawe Virtual Reality Huakaʻi. As a result, local and Native Hawaiian communities as well as the general public will have safe and meaningful physical and virtual engagement with the KIRC’s resources.
