Ernest C. Withers Sr. Historical Photographic Foundation (Withers House Museum)

The Withers House Museum will improve access to its collection by cataloging, digitizing, and making accessible up to 50,000 photos and negatives. The museum will hire a part-time photo archivist and contract with a digital asset manager, policy writer, and conservator who, along with existing volunteers, will catalog and digitize the collection. Project activities include conducting a conservation assessment; creating collections and preservation policies; cataloging, rehousing, and digitizing photographs and negatives; and creating an online collections database. As a result of this project, the collection will be more accessible for use by researchers and community members.
