Museum of the African Diaspora

Museum of the African Diaspora (MoAD) will expand its visual literacy and arts program to provide free classes and museum visits for over 2,900 third- and fourth-grade students from Title 1 schools in the San Francisco Bay Area. Staff will collaborate with a teacher advisory committee and teaching artists to create new standards-aligned curricular resources, provide over 40 hours of art integration professional development workshops to teachers, and develop an online portal for teachers across to access free lesson plans, podcasts, and videos. MoAD will partner with the San Francisco Public Library (SFPL) to host workshops, a student literacy and art project, and a showcase of student work. An external evaluation team will employ a multifaceted evaluation approach to assess program reach as well as improvements in knowledge, skills, and abilities for students and teachers.
