Friends of the Freedom House

Friends of the Freedom House will produce an exhibit to preserve the history of the Freedom House and the Civil Rights Movement in New Orleans. The project team will conduct inter-generational community engagement sessions and collect oral history interviews from veterans of the Civil Rights Movement. They will also work with an exhibit design consultant to design, fabricate, and install the new exhibit. The exhibit will inform visitors about the struggle for African American civil rights, provide a space for youth in New Orleans to learn about their history and forge connections between youth and elders in the community.
