Log Number: MH-252862-OMS-23
The Dr. Carter G. Woodson African American Museum will develop an interpretive plan for the permanent exhibit in its new facility. Museum staff will partner with a content developer, an exhibit designer, a media designer, and an evaluator to create the plan. Project activities include visits to related exhibits, research on African American history, art, and culture in Pinellas County, collections research, development of interpretive themes and design options, audience testing, and advisory committee charrettes. An advisory group with experience in creating exhibitions of African American art, culture, and history, as well as focus groups with members of the African American community will help guide the work. The interpretive plan will include an exhibit script, publication outline, sample labels, elevation drawings and floor plans along with a media production plan to prepare the museum for fabrication and installation of the exhibit.
