Florida Memorial University

The Nathan Collier Library at the Florida Memorial University (FMU) will hire a professional archivist to evaluate the existing archival spaces in the library and make recommendations for operational and organizational improvements. The project will support the relocation and rehousing of the archival collection to a larger space that is more suited for long-term storage of the existing collection with room for growth. The relocation project provides an opportunity to inventory and create a database for the archival collection, with the ultimate goal of providing finding aids to allow for increased access by students, faculty, administrators, and researchers. Current library staff will participate in hands-on and online training opportunities to learn the skills necessary to manage, process, and catalogue archival material.
