Harriet Tubman Museum
Log Number: MH-00-10-0027-10
In response to a shortage of funds for school field trips, the Tubman African American Museum will train its staff in the use of digital video equipment to produce video presentations of its successful outreach programs to be transmitted over the Internet for K-12 classroom use. IMLS funds will be used to purchase equipment, train staff, and contract with a certified Georgia teacher to produce standards-based lesson plans. By the end of the two-year project, the museum will have produced 12 video presentations and 10 downloadable lesson plans on the topics of African American art, history, and culture. The knowledge and equipment gained through this program will also support the recording of museum lectures, workshops, and performances to be archived and retrieved for viewing by general audiences.
