Osage Nation (Osage Nation Museum)

The Osage Nation Museum will increase its capacity to educate the public about the history, culture, and artistic expressions of the Osage people by providing professional development opportunities for staff. The Enduring Culture: Preparing ONM Staff for Collection Digitization project will train museum staff on the operation and use of a comprehensive collections management software program. The project will also introduce staff members to best practices for photographing and digitizing museum collections. Results of the project will include the creation of policies and procedures relating to the collections management system, a database catalog of the museum's collection, and an efficient system for responding to research requests, and online access to the collection. In addition, staff will be better prepared for the museum's vision for an eventual interactive component to its permanent exhibit.
