COSI

The Center of Science and Industry (COSI) will organize professional development workshops to create personal professional learning plans. The project design will be based on a framework of competencies developed through a larger, ongoing collaborative initiative supporting the informal science learning field. In support of its strategic goals to partner with and be inclusive of other cultural institutions within the larger community, COSI will invite up to five other museums to join its staff team to participate in train-the-trainer workshops in which participants will use the framework to develop their own professional learning plans, learn how to guide others to prepare their own plans, and develop institutional diffusion plans. The project will strengthen the museum's established COSI U, a professional development program that requires all staff to participate in proportional hours of documented professional development each year.
