Monroe County History Center

The Monroe County History Center will enhance the storage conditions and preservation of 40 percent of its collections of 50,000 objects, documents, and photographs that relate to the history and culture of Monroe County, Indiana. The museum will purchase 13 professional storage furniture units to rehouse the small and medium-sized artifacts in its permanent collection. The current storage environment for the majority of these smaller objects consists of steel cantilever library shelving which poses significant risks to the integrity of the artifacts and the safety of museum staff. The installation of a professional storage system will allow the center to optimize space within its finite collections storage area.
