University of Alabama (Alabama Museum of Natural History)

The Alabama Museum of Natural History at the University of Alabama will stabilize and improve the accessibility to its invertebrate paleontology collections. Project activities will include properly rehousing the collection to meet museum archival standards as well as cataloging and digitizing the collection to make data accessible online for scientific research. The improved preservation of this large collection of over 4,500 specimens-mostly from Alabama and the Gulf Coastal Plain of the southeastern United States-will enhance their availability for use in educational programming for both university courses and public outreach events.
