Washington County Museum of Fine Arts

The Washington County Museum of Fine Arts will address one of two recommendations of a recent Conservation Assessment Program report that is integral to its 3-5 year goal for collections stewardship. Project activities will include creating a new storage area, acquiring art storage shelving and movable storage carts, and purchasing archival supplies for rehousing collections. The museum will also fabricate and install a woven wire partition with sliding gates and a key system to secure the new storage area where the new shelving will be located. The Collections Housing and Storage Improvement project will provide safe and secure storage for objects that are currently in inadequate and potentially harmful storage and housing, and it will make them more accessible for inclusion in exhibitions and programs, enhancing public access to portions of the museum's collections that are rarely seen.
