Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art

The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art will conduct a detailed conservation survey of its 28-piece 16th to 18th century Chinese lacquered furniture collection. The museum will engage a lacquer conservator, who will examine and analyze each piece, compile detailed survey notes, and complete condition reports. The conservator will formulate a treatment plan for each piece with an estimate of the time that will be required to complete the work. The conservation survey will allow the museum to develop and implement a conservation treatment plan to allow the future display of these rarely seen objects.
