Cornell Botanic Gardens will implement a fifteen-month project to enhance its collections database and digitize its Integrated Pest Management (IPM) data and Tree Risk Assessment Program (TRAP) documentation. The garden will purchase new software and data migration services for its plant records database, hire Cornell's Integrated Web Services team to format the plant records database web interface to function on a newly and responsively designed website, purchase new software to manage the IPM and TRAP data, and acquire computers and iPads for the IPM and arborist teams needing mobile devices for data input and retrieval in the field. By digitizing data held in paper documents dating back to the early 2000s, performing diagnostic tests for more than 1,800 trees, updating the existing plant records database to one with the same mapping platform, and integrating it with a new website, the garden will improve accessibility to information for the people directly involved in collections care.
