Customs House Museum and Cultural Center

The Customs House Museum and Cultural Center will facilitate the preservation of and access to its collections by minimizing potential damage and maximizing space to accommodate future growth. The museum will purchase and install new archival quality storage units to replace acidic storage units in its offsite collections facility; remove 28 large items from the facility's floor and relocate them to the new storage units; relocate 432 inappropriately stored objects from the museum to the more appropriate offsite location; and purchase and install data loggers to track environmental conditions. The museum will hire an intern to assist with the project which will provide greater use and physical access to the collections for public benefit.
