Asheville Art Museum
Log Number: MA-30-18-0080-18
The Asheville Art Museum will improve the care of its collection of 3,824 objects of American art of the 20th and 21st centuries and 4,098 architectural drawings as part of its move to a new facility with expanded art storage and related collection areas. The museum will purchase and install upgraded storage furnishings including a painting storage system, flat files for works on paper, open shelving units for three-dimensional objects, platform trucks/dollies, and mobile tables. Project team members will pack the collection and coordinate its move from current art storage to the museum's renovated collections storage area. The successful completion of the project will streamline receiving and accessioning new art acquisitions, secure the lifespan of the collection, aid in exhibition and programming preparation, and enhance scholarly access.
