Contemporary Arts Center

The Contemporary Arts Center will offer six mutually reinforcing and free out-of-school learning opportunities for over 5,000 young adults in the Cincinnati region to help offset learning loss resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. The center will build on and expand five successful young adult programs: Artist-in-Residence, Young Adult Lab, CAC Teen Council, Teen Internships, and YA College & Career Project. The center will also launch its sixth program, Teen Summer Internships. This project supports artists-in-residence, as well as hourly compensation for interns in both internship programs. All six of the young adult programs incorporate research and methodologies for developing successful teen programs in contemporary arts institutions. The programs also include periodic evaluation to assess demonstrable impacts on the knowledge, skills, behaviors, and attitudes of the program participants, and to guide staff as they refine best practices for teen programming.
