Lyman Allyn Art Museum

The Lyman Allyn Art Museum will inventory and digitize their textiles collection and associated object records. The collection includes over 4,000 items ranging from the 17th through the 20th century. The museum will work with a textile conservator, who will train staff on proper handling practices, condition assessment and reporting, and basic techniques for rehousing textiles. The conservator will also assess condition concerns within the collection and develop a plan for objects requiring conservation treatment. The project will result in better preservation of the collection, improved intellectual and physical control of the collection, and free online access to the collection for researchers and the public.
