Chicago History Museum
Log Number: MA-255654-OMS-24
The Chicago History Museum will install a temporary exhibition to explore the history and persistence of the diverse Latino communities in Chicago. The exhibition builds upon a previous IMLS-supported initiative to foster deeper relationships with Chicago’s Latino communities through restorative practices and co-creative processes. The museum will collaborate with staff and students at the Instituto Justice and Leadership Academy, and the project will be guided by two community advisory groups. The project will support the purchase of exhibition materials, staffing to design and install the exhibit, and the development of associated public programming. The exhibition will provide a sense of inclusion and representation of Chicago’s Latino communities while contributing to the public knowledge and understanding of how these communities help shape the city.
