Children's Museum of Richmond

The Children’s Museum of Richmond will develop and expand school readiness programing and resources in the greater Richmond region. Project development focuses on partnerships with preschool centers supported by the Virginia Preschool Initiative or Head Start programs to ensure that the project benefits children and families who experience barriers to school readiness. The museum will host focus groups for teachers in partnership with Virginia Commonwealth University’s School of Education. The input provided during these sessions will aid in the development of a menu of engagement opportunities that include school readiness events at both the museum and partner sites, art studio activities, and at-home and on-the-go prompts that empower caregivers to support their child’s development and early learning. The menu of activities, as well as resources, incentives for participation, and ongoing surveys will be available digitally through an experiential learning platform.
