Miami Dade College (Museum of Art and Design)
Log Number: MA-255400-OMS-24
The Museum of Art and Design at Miami Dade College will create exhibitions dedicated to the use, history, and cultural significance of Freedom Tower, a National Historic Landmark. Project activities include content development and curation of exhibitions, an orientation film, and guided interpretive tours in English and Spanish with a focus on the Cuban exile story. The museum will contract with an exhibition and media design firm, an audio-visual firm, and content area specialists. Visitors will gain a deeper understanding of the Freedom Tower’s history and the achievements and challenges of Miami's diaspora communities. The primary beneficiaries of this project are students, faculty, and staff of Miami Dade College, a recognized Hispanic Serving Institution, and the diverse communities in Miami.
