ArtsWestchester

ArtsWestchester will develop a heritage ambassador corps in partnership with a local media arts nonprofit to implement a paid training program designed for and by immigrant community leaders in Westchester County, New York. Participants in the program will receive training in several skill sets including ethnographic fieldwork, audio/visual documentation, community archiving, and public programming and production, enabling them to conduct fieldwork and develop a suite of cultural programs within their communities. Corps participants will assist in the development of a multimedia exhibition at ArtsWestchester as well as the creation of three community archives with the intent to safeguard digital cultural assets and ensure accessibility to community members. The project will result in the increased visibility, preservation, and support of partnering communities' living cultural heritage.
