Philadelphia Museum of Art

The Philadelphia Museum of Art will use funds to support an ongoing effort to catalogue, photograph, digitize, research, and rehouse drawings from their Prints, Drawings, and Photography Department. The project will photograph 7,832 small- to mid-sized drawings, confirm and validate data in the museum’s collections management system, conduct in-depth cataloguing that will add provenance research, description, and publication and exhibition histories for select works, add all digitized works to the museum’s online collection site; and rehouse works as needed.  As a result of the project, the products of the cataloguing and research activities for these fragile and light-sensitive works will be made available for public access through the museum’s online collections.
