Concord Museum
Log Number: MA-253165-OMS-23
The Concord Museum will conduct a detailed conservation survey of its collection of historic clothing, which consists of 2,189 pieces of clothing, shoes, and hats, primarily dating from the early 1700s to early 1900s. Staff will work with professional textile conservators to systematically assess each object for current storage and housing needs and make conservation treatment and rehousing recommendations. As a result of the project, the conservators will produce a conservation survey report and staff will update the online collections database with new collections information that will expand public access to the collection for object-based learning, research, exhibition, and educational programming purposes.
