Kidzu Children's Museum
Log Number: MA-253139-OMS-23
The Kidzu Children’s Museum will develop a framework for supporting refugees including regular family programming at the museum, a skills-development volunteer program for teenage refugees, and a best practices toolkit designed to help other informal learning environments and cultural centers implement similar programs. Project activities include the facilitation of targeted, free programming in partnership with local refugee communities; an audit of museum space and programming; the development and implementation of a skills-development volunteer program for teenage refugees; and the creation of a best practices toolkit to be shared with other museums and centers. The project will serve 300 families and up to 40 teen volunteers and help both program participants and project partners build a feeling of belonging and attachment to the community.
