Discovery Children's Museum

The Discovery Children’s Museum will refresh content and renovate Water World, one of the original and most popular permanent exhibitions. Based on recommendations from a 2020 Exhibit Master Planning report, staff will contract with an exhibition fabricator, a project manager, and an evaluator to take existing designs through fabrication, testing, installation, and remedial evaluation. A cross-departmental staff team will collaborate on the development of programs, community partnerships, revised K-7th grade curriculum-based materials, creation of online content for educators, and a timelapse video of the exhibition installation. As a result, visitors will enjoy a permanent exhibition that requires significantly less water to operate, with improved safety and engagement features and new Nevada-specific content around water conservation.
