University of Michigan (University of Michigan Museum of Art)
Log Number: MA-252863-OMS-23
The University of Michigan Museum of Art will develop and implement programming to educate young voters with the goal of engaging them in dialogue across differing ideologies and increasing civic understanding and participation. The museum will work in partnership with the City of Ann Arbor, the non-partisan University of Michigan Creative Campus Voting Project, artist Philippa Pham Hughes, and other campus and community partners to engage students and the public on voting rights. Paid undergraduate student interns and graduate student assistants will work with museum staff to produce programs, including cross-political dinners, discussions, lectures, and interactive art experiences, informed by a community advisory group. The project will demystify the voting process, energize voters, and encourage meaningful dialogue across the political spectrum while expanding the museum’s commitment to civic responsibility.
