Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs (Wisconsin Veterans Museum)

The Wisconsin Veterans Museum will digitize and catalog post-Civil War through World War I still images from its collection, including photographs, scrapbooks, charcoal and pastel portraits, and other images. The museum will hire and train a digitization specialist to work with staff to digitize approximately 2,200 objects. As a result of the project, accurate metadata and object photography will improve collection management as well as provide increased public access to the collection online through the museum’s searchable collections database. Digitization of objects will also reduce object handling for delicate and light-sensitive materials and contribute to the long-term preservation of the collection.
