Japanese American National Museum

The Japanese American National Museum will catalog and conserve items from its collection of art and associated ephemera of Japanese American artist Henry Sugimoto. The museum will contract with professional conservators to conduct condition assessments of paintings, woodblock prints, documents, and other materials and to perform conservation work on those items in need of immediate attention. The museum will purchase archival storage boxes, and conservation tools and equipment to support this work. Museum staff will inventory, catalog, and rehouse items in the collection and work with a contracted photographer to digitize up to 600 artifacts. The project will result in the complete inventory and cataloging of the collection, which will be available to the public through the museum’s online collections database.
