Miami Children's Museum

Miami Children’s Museum will partner with the University of Miami to evaluate museum-based preschools and measure the success of formal museum early childhood education and school readiness among children completing preschool in a museum compared to traditional preschool settings. They will evaluate children’s exposure to exhibits and the museum experience and identify best practices that can be useful for other museums. They also will develop an evaluation toolkit for a formal museum preschool education that can be used as a model for other institutions, as well as create professional development opportunities for museums with embedded preschools and for museums looking to create formal early childhood education programs.
