Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts

The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts will improve the management, preservation, and accessibility of its collection of 16,000 art objects. Working off the findings of an internal collections assessment, the museum will complete digitization of its permanent collection of 971 works; upgrade its collections management system; and implement a new online collections portal. The project will include conducting a rights assessment for public domain objects as a pilot program to reduce barriers to discover, access, and engage with the museum’s collection. Completion of the project will allow the museum to better preserve, manage, and provide public access to its collection online, and improve institutional operations and staff efficiency.
