Elgin History Museum

The Elgin Area Historical Society will digitize 1,185 images of underrepresented people in Elgin and make the digital files available to the public on the museum's website and through the Illinois Digital Archives. Museum volunteers will assist with scanning the images and uploading them to the museum's website. Conservation efforts will also include preservation of at least 100 deteriorating images from 1936–1938. The museum collaborated with the Gail Borden Public Library, Centro de Informacion, Elgin Sports Hall of Fame, Second Baptist Church, and the Lao-American Organization in Elgin to identify the materials to be digitized.
