Michigan State University (Michigan State University Museum)

The Michigan State University Museum will purchase rehousing supplies and appropriate housing equipment to improve storage conditions for a large and diverse collection of apparel and textiles that are used for teaching and research. The incoming collection includes numerous types and eras of clothing not found in the existing collection, with many items representative of clothing worn by Michigan women at home, at school, in the workplace, and in leisure activities from 1810 to the early 1990s. The museum plans to hire an emerging professional as a project assistant for the two-year project, as well as four student interns for each of the six semesters to assist with photography, cataloging, numbering, and rehousing of the approximately 3000 pieces.
