High Desert Museum
Log Number: MA-249352-OMS-21
High Desert Museum will gather experts from across the region to develop design plans for a new 4,500 square-foot permanent exhibit entitled “Creating Together”, to help visitors better understand the indigenous plateau region, ancestral homeland of many indigenous communities and plateau tribes. A comprehensive exhibit plan will be created, including a detailed narrative of the visitor experience, design documents, and a script. The museum will collaborate with Native people from across the region to ensure indigenous knowledge and perspectives are integrated into the design plans. Immersive multisensory experiences, Native languages, and interactive components will enable visitors to experience the power of the Indigenous Plateau worldview, transforming how they view the region and their position in it and cultivating critical reflections about their own worldviews and different ways of knowing.
