Wichita Art Museum

Log Number: MA-249221-OMS-21

The Wichita Art Museum plans to conserve important objects from their American Folk Art collection including wide-ranging examples from hunting decoys and fishing lures to flag toppers and embroidered samplers. Partnering with the Midwest Art Conservation Center, the museum will also conserve works by premier American artists that include a group of high-priority paintings by Homer, Andrews, Bellows, Feke, Henri, Kuhn and Lawson. The conservation treatments are based on previous assessments and carefully follow the museum's conservation plan. Conservation will allow the museum to safely exhibit these works, providing a foundation for scholarship, education, and public programming in their region and beyond. Ultimately, this project will help preserve America's artistic heritage.
