Palo Alto Art Center

The Palo Alto Art Center will implement a multifaceted community engagement project that showcases the unique perspectives of artists and the transformative power of the arts in a time of increased anxiety. “Creative Attention” builds on the art center’s tradition of artist residencies, exhibitions, art education programs, and outreach to the diverse mid-peninsula community. In partnership with a licensed therapist/board-certified art therapist, they will encourage the community to use the arts to address anxiety and to recognize the many manifestations of the emotion. In addition, they are planning to conduct therapeutic art workshops and organize an intergenerational family day. The art center will also develop a related art exhibition in partnership with artists, community stakeholders, government agencies, local school districts, and regional social service organizations.
