University of Minnesota (Goldstein Museum of Design)

The Goldstein Museum of Design at the University of Minnesota will improve the preservation and accessibility of its apparel collection. The museum will hire a photographer and a preparator to photograph 1,800 objects and upload images to the collection database. These objects include 18th century gowns, photographs of 1970s era garments, recent acquisitions, children’s wear, and women’s garments. Digitization of the collection will aid in exhibition development, educational activities, and public programming, as well as serve as a resource for future publications and educational curriculum. The impact of the project will be a wider variety of object images available to staff and the public through the online collection database.
