National Museum of Women in the Arts

The National Museum of Women in the Arts (NMWA) will install storage equipment for its reconfigured collections storage space to improve conditions and meet current museum standards. Throughout the last decade, NMWA has assessed conditions of the onsite storage space and developed a detailed plan for improvements to address stewardship issues related to access, care and conservation, physical and intellectual control of collections, and collecting practices. The project supports the packing and off-site storage of the collection, installation of new compact storage and shelving, and the return of collections following a detailed collection storage plan. The new equipment will provide secure, organized storage of the collection to improve its accessibility and enhance its long-term preservation.
