MASS MoCA

MASS MoCA (MM) will partner with the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families (DCF) to build on a pilot project--Art-tastic Neighbors. The project is designed to connect artists, museum educators, school liaisons, and social service providers with children and families who are in the DCF system-primarily those who have experienced family separation trauma. The project team will develop, deliver, and evaluate the impact of out-of-school art programs over two years to 800 individual DCF family members and 700 siblings living in foster care, as well as 150 social workers who serve them. The project will also establish a framework for an additional cross-sector partnership with Berkshire Health Systems to broaden the impact of arts programming on creating healthy communities where all people can thrive, situating MM as a hub for community wellness.
