Virginia Museum of Fine Arts

Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (VMFA) will conduct a 12-month project focusing on the adequacy and configuration of their current fine art collection storage spaces. The study will assess storage equipment and spaces and provide recommendations for improved storage options for the museum's future expansion. At the end of the study, a collections storage needs assessment will identify both physical and organizational deficiencies, as well as recommend opportunities for the improvement of both storage furniture and object housings. Architectural planning, a program for new storage furniture procurement, reorganization of existing storage spaces, and a plan for future growth will support the museum in caring for and storing its growing collection.
