Highfield Hall and Gardens

Highfield Hall and Gardens will launch the first phase of a strategic initiative to enhance and modify its historic grounds to meet universal design and participation standards for accessibility and inclusion. The museum will improve its gardens and walking trails by minimizing a slope, removing trail impediments and tree stumps, and leveling and applying compact stone dust along the walkways. Pathways will be regraded and/or extended to meet universal design grade requirements. The project stems from a 2014 community needs assessment that found that adults aged 60 and older make up nearly half of the local population and four out of 10 residents are 75 or older with at least one disability.
